Too many people have lost faith in government because of backroom deals for special interests at City Hall. We need a government that is working for the people, not the developers. As a journalist, I asked the tough questions of bureaucrats. As a councilmember, I'll be working for you.
Building stronger partnerships with our public schools, increasing affordable housing, protecting open space, and revitalizing neighborhood business districts will be among my priorities as a councilmember.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope you will get involved in our exciting grassroots campaign! Read more...
To my wonderful supporters:
Thank you for everything you have done to help us advance our campaign into the November runoff election. Your support is what enabled us to communicate our message to the voters, and I hope you'll take a moment to enjoy our success at this milestone in the campaign.
With predictions of a record high turnout in November, as progressive voters turn out to vote for Obama, the general election looks promising. Thousands of new voters will be looking at our race for the first time. I'm looking forward to hitting the streets to reach out to them with our vision of a city government that works for all of us.
On to November! The general election looks positive for us. Our campaign will grow rapidly in the weeks and months ahead, and I am eager and proud to join you as we head to the runoff.
Thank you again!
Gratefully,
Stephen
